KVK, Banavasi celebrated “POSHAN MAAH - Capacity Development Program for Anganwadi Workers & Women on Poshan”. As a part of the training programme, awareness was created on nutritional deficiencies and food requirements for different age groups, bio-fortified varieties and nutri-kitchen garden and its benefits in reducing the effect of micronutrient deficiencies, especially among women and children in rural areas. Vegetable kits were distributed (sponsored by IFFCO) to the participants by Chief Guest Sri.Basi Reddy Garu (Ex MPP and representative of MLA). Anganwadi workers and farm women also participated in the inauguration of POSHAN MAAH addressed by Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.

Awareness was created on different models of kitchen garden and how it ensures an inexpensive, regular and handy supply of fresh vegetables which are basic to nutrition. Also focused on nutritional deficiencies and food requirements for adults and children. As part of the programme vegetable kits were distributed (sponsored by IFFCO) to the participants.

SMS(Plant Protection) and SMS(Veterinary Science),Tab based exam was conducted to the trainees of Mushroom Grower  and small poultry under ASCI programme by external assessors (G.Chandra sekher and Prasanna kumari).Oral viva voice as well as practical exam was conducted with trainees as a part of assessment. Total 18 trainees were attended to the assessment out of 20 trainees.
